Göcek is an exclusive yachting harbour village, located on the southwest Turquoise Coast of Turkey, in a small valley amongst the spectacular Taurus Mountains. Secondly, it is a harbour village, so it does not suffer the heavy commercialism which a 'package style' beach resort does. However, beautiful quiet beaches are only 10 minutes drive away. The best way to enjoy local beaches is to take a short boat trip, or boat taxi, from the harbour around the spectacular 12 islands. Each tiny island offers unique, breathtaking surroundings of crystal clear sea and secluded coves, some which benefit from summer breezes and shading amongst olive trees and ancient ruins. Göcek is a paradise for sea lovers who can enjoy a wide choice of water-sports locally, including sailing, waterskiing, windsurfing and scuba diving. White water rafting is also available close by. Nature lovers can enjoy walking, hiking, mountain biking, jeep safaris and horse riding. Genuine Turkish baths are not far away.
